Nation Not Sure It’s Prepared For Three Weeks Of Charles Barkley’s Capital One Commercials

March 14th - As sports fans and gambling addicts prepare for March Madness to kick off this week, the nation is still unsure as to whether or not they’re prepared for three weeks of non-stop Capital One commercials starring Charles Barkley, Spike Lee, and Samuel L. Jackson.

“I love March Madness. I’ve already got six brackets filled out, and I couldn’t be more excited for the games to start,” said Nathan, a middle-school principal from Vermont. “But I’d probably be more excited if I knew that I wasn’t about to be forced to endure around-the-clock footage of Charles Barkley driving around in a car with Spike Lee and Samuel L. As an official sponsor of the annual NCAA tournament, Capital One typically has access to a large chunk of advertising space throughout the three-plus weeks of nationally broadcast games. While somewhat amusing at first, the novelty seems to lose most of its charm after the seventeenth or eighteenth time that it’s shown during commercial breaks.

“Man, I love Charles Barkley,” said Shaquille O’Neal, a former NBA player, and current television analyst. “But if I see that commercial where he pretends not to know what a tumbleweed is one more time, I’m gonna make him eat my Capital One credit card.”
