Free Laser Pointer Night Highlights Miami Marlins 2018 Promotional Schedule

January 31st - The Miami Marlins have released their promotional schedule for the upcoming baseball season, causing hundreds of excited fans to rush to the ticket gates in hopes of securing a chance to see a game. Many of the Marlins’ 2018 promotions are standard in the sports industry, such as team photo giveaways and ‘Bark at the Park’ day, but one game that many fans have circled on their calendars is ‘Free Laser Pointer Night’ on July 28th. The Marlins will be giving out laser pointers to the first 25,000 fans in attendance for the Saturday night game vs the rival Washington Nationals.

While some MLB officials have expressed skepticism about the promotion, Marlins co-owner Derek Jeter has done his best to silence the doubters.

“There won’t be any age restriction when it comes to the laser pointers,” promised Jeter. “Batteries will also be included, and I’ve got more in my office if anyone needs them.”

The laser pointers are sleek and fashionable, with the Marlins logo inscribed on the side and a laser range of 10 miles, according to the Miami Association of Eye Surgeons, who will be providing the laser pointers.

For anyone who is unlucky enough to miss out on the chance to attend Laser Pointer Night, the Marlins will be hosting ‘Meow at the Park’ on August 12th, giving fans the chance to bring their cats to watch the matinee showdown with the New York Mets.

The team also announced that the Opening Day Giancarlo Stanton bobblehead giveaway has been canceled. In lieu of the bobbleheads, members of the Marlins front office staff will be punching the first 5,000 fans in the stomach.
