Is Your Baby Addicted To Marijuana?

April 20th - As the legalization of marijuana (also known as “pot,” “the devil’s lettuce,” and “dank kush”) has spread throughout the United States, the drug has become a subject of controversy, both in government and in the community.

Advocates claim that it has medical benefits and that recreational use is less harmful than alcohol or cigarettes, which are both legal to those that are of age. Opponents say that it can be addictive, and also claim that it is a “gateway drug,” which leads to the eventual use of “harder” drugs such as cocaine and heroin.

Amidst the discussion over whether or not marijuana should be legal is a much more pressing concern: the recreational use of marijuana by babies. Scientists say that as many as “every single baby” could be using this drug, and yet there is little to nothing being done to educate parents about this grave situation. Here are some warning signs that indicate your infant may be addicted to marijuana:

  • Does your baby have trouble communicating? Is their speech difficult to understand? (Examples may include: talking in gibberish, slurring words, or a confused look and lack of response when you attempt to engage them in conversation).

If the answer is yes, your baby is most likely addicted to marijuana.

  • Does your baby eat a lot? Do they seem to be hungry all the time, even at strange hours?

If the answer is yes, your baby is most likely addicted to marijuana.

  • Does your baby have a short attention span? Do they have trouble concentrating on simple tasks for long periods of time?

If the answer is yes, your baby is most likely addicted to marijuana.

  • Does your baby have unusual sleep patterns? Do they sleep for excessive periods, or have trouble sleeping through the night?

If the answer is yes, your baby is most likely addicted to marijuana.

  • Does your baby refuse to answer when you confront them about your suspicions?

If the answer is yes, your baby is most likely addicted to marijuana.

  • Does your baby appear to be in a constant state of intoxication? Do they have trouble walking? Do they move about aimlessly, with no clear purpose in mind?

If the answer is yes, your baby is most likely addicted to marijuana.

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, there is no need to panic. There is help available for your baby, and the sooner you act, the faster your baby will be able to achieve sobriety and live a clean, pure life.

Talk to your baby’s doctor and explain the symptoms that your baby is experiencing. After a few short blood tests to confirm the diagnosis, your doctor will give your baby prescription drugs that should help end the marijuana addiction within 5-8 years of daily use.
