Build-A-Bear Workshops To Donate 20 Percent Of Future Revenue Directly To Bears
April 23rd - Sources say that Build-A-Bear, the popular chain workshop that allows children (and adults) to create giant stuffed bears for themselves, has announced that they will be donating 20 percent of all future revenue directly to bears.
While the announcement left some people confused as to what charity the company would actually be sending donations to, Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John assured everybody that the money would be given directly to bears via large stacks of cash.
“As a company, we want to be a positive influence in the world, and we saw a wonderful opportunity to make a major difference in the lives of bears everywhere,” said Sharon. “However, not every charity is as transparent as they appear on the service, so in order to ensure that our money would fall into the right hands, we decided to give large amounts of cash directly to wild bears. I trust that they’ll put it to good use.”
Bears were ecstatic about the announcement, saying that they have big plans for the new influx of cash.
“Now we can raise awareness about the dangers of deforestation, climate change, or excessive hunting,” said a grizzly bear. “Or, we can gamble on sporting events, buy a bunch of drugs, and throw a massive party in my cave. To be determined.”
